The United States has made heaps of progress as a nation over the past two hundred years. We have the ability to look back now with the progressive attitudes that we have gained and realize just how unfairly people were treated in the past. Whether it had to do with gender, race, sexual orientation, and all other subject matters, it is plain to see that there have been strides made toward a want for justice for every single human being. What is important to remember though, is that we have not yet reached our goal as a society. Ignorance still runs rampant, even with all the gains we have made. For us to make it there we need to keep in mind exactly what it is that we want to do, and then make a conscious effort to carry it out. This is why fighting for justice is so important, no matter who or what is involved.

To truly make significant accomplishments, we need to band together and tackle each issue as we see it. It is quite frankly embarrassing to see that in this day and age there are still employers that are unwilling to offer women the same wages or advancement opportunities as men. People are being discriminated against for their race or sexual orientation, when all they are looking for is a place to live and perhaps raise a family. Members of the gay community are at times unable to visit their partner, whom they may have been with for 50 years, when they are sick in the hospital. These are just a few of the examples, but there are literally thousands of cases of abuse, in all its forms, occurring on a daily basis.

The only way that a battle against any injustice can begin and gain recognition throughout the nation is by doing our part to increase awareness. Luckily, there are many people that are doing just that in the form of a justice blog or website. Reading and learning about what is going on in our country is going to give us the power to change things, nothing is going to happen on its own. Even if it is slow and gradual, change is sure to come if there are brave individuals there to help it along. Just taking a look at the past, as mentioned before, can give you a better perspective on how much of an effect one person can have. Here are some links to some of the top justice blogs available in their respective fields. Take a look at them, find something (or many things) that you are passionate about, and then get involved.
