Baltimore city schools police officer Brian Eberhardt, age 37, was convicted on two days ago for possession of child pornography and may now be paying the price in a huge way for his disgusting hobby. He was caught when the computer his girlfriend sold to a pawn shop was found to contain video and images of children performing sexual acts. Police then went to his home and found that another one of his computers also contained similar images.

Eberhardt went through a three day trial and was convicted on three different counts. He will be sentenced on January 19th of 2010 where he can face up to six years for the crime. How long his stay in prison will be is going to be under Judge H. Patrick Stringer’s discretion.

The school district has said that Eberhardt has been working for the district since January of 2005, and was on administrative leave without pay prior to his conviction. It is safe to say that he will no longer have a position available from this point on. Eberhardt is still currently out on the Baltimore streets because he has paid bail, and he should enjoy his freedom while he can because there is a very good chance that he will be spending a considerable amount of time in the United States prison system.

It is especially frightening when police officers are involved in this type of activity. They should be the ones protecting kids and going out there to put a stop to child pornography. By engaging in the viewing of it themselves they are becoming a very large part of the problem.
